Chapter Eugene 2

Off Campus Student Living in Eugene, Oregon

CRGs second off-campus student housing tower expresses itself as an “Emerald City Treehouse”. Launching from Eugene’s nickname, the tower is clad in a triangular dark green corrugated metal panel system that evokes a sense of rough and resilient tree bark. Moments of activity are carved into the tree, revealing the “heartwood” in a bright bronze accent that put public and amenity spaces within on display.

The main frontage along 13th ave leverages the buildings post-tensioned structure to cantilever the primary facade, and gives the building its signature framed moment; culminating in the top floor amenity spaces. These are expressed as the “treehouse” atop the tree, peeling back the bark to allow for increased glass and framed views over the beautiful University of Oregon campus.
